Botanic Gardens Christchurch

We have been in Sydney since Sunday night but have not had time to catch up, so this is the last post about NZ.  We wandered briefly around the Botanic Gardens in Christchurch in the morning before our flight across the Tasman Sea.  Most of the photos are not aimed at the botanically minded, except for the largest Monkey Puzzle tree I have ever seen.

In the centre of the gardens there was a brass band with a small audience (almost more English than the English).
Most seemed to be enjoying the occasion although these two seemed less than happy, maybe they were just a pair of grumpies.
Unfortunately we noticed that that NZ youth might be catching the increasingly British disease.

And lastly a rose but this one will last more than one season.
